Good to know, ive seen flights from Toronto to Iceland for under 165-185 CDN with tax , only thing stopping me is my current severe dislike for cold climates. Northern Alberta should be far enough up north for the lights, saw tickets to Edmonton for about 360 usd from Chicago, most hotels are under a hundred $ , dog sledding was i think around 130 cdn for an hour, car rental isn't that bad and tbe scenery around Jasper and Banff is amazing, lotsa skying opertunities along the way as well.

Where should I look for that kind of price? From Toronto

My sister-in-law lives in Sweden, and she has sent me pictures of the northern lights there that look too pretty to be real (sorry I am at work and don't have them now).

If you can at all swing it, I would go to Scandinavia rather than Alaska or Canada. Unless you and your fiancée are winter back-backing, whose afraid of frost bite, adventure tourist types, I would think that Iceland, Sweden, or a different Scandinavian country is going to be significantly more romantic a setting for a honey-moon.

Skimp on the wedding if you can get away with it (they are over priced here in the USA anyways) and treat yourselves to a fantastic honey-moon.

Her family lives in Stockholm, but they have a little family cabin out in the country some-where, the pictures are from there. Sorry that I am not sure how far north the cabin is. I can find Sweden on a globe, but past that my knowledge of Swedish geography is nill. :(
