Im trying to narrow my choices and I've come down to these 4 but I'm open to any other suggestions. Mainly, I'm trying to keep it cheap b/c I'm not a hardcore gamer and I just want something that should last awhile. So Ive been doing some reading and I'm down to these, which would you guys say is worth it?

Nvidia 8500 or 7600 or ATI 1650 or 2400xt

any input is MUCH appreciated. Thanks.
 
Pass on the 8500 and 2400XT, they're weak and won't last a while. The 8600GT is the same price as the 7600GT in most cases, so I don't know why you're comparing a 7600 to an 8500 unless you're talking about a 7600GS.

But if you're going up to 7/8600GT, you may as well cash in on Newegg's special with the X1950GT being the same price if it's still in effect.

Edit: I don't know who voted for the 8500, but it's clearly inferior to any of the 7600's and the X1650. As far as I'm aware, concerning your poll, 7600GT > X1650 >> 7600GS.
 
depends if the 7600 is a gt or a gs, and if the 1650 is a xt or pro. I'd pick the cards in this order:
1650xt
7600gt
7600gs
1650pro

don't bother with the 2400 or the 8500 series, they're both too slow compared to a similarly priced DX9 card.
