so my cable modem i'm renting from comcast is a POS and i'm tired of dealing with its problems (it almost never locks onto a signal despite good numbers from the technician's meter) and the only modems comcast offer are old docsis 1.1 modems. so, i was just going to spend the 50 bucks or so and buy a cable modem...does anyone know if there is particular model that has good signal locking abilities and is overall just a great modem?
as far as DSL modems...i'm looking for something similar, however, i would like to get an internal one that i can use on my router (600mhz running Pfsense (freeBSD)) i tried to look up the hardware compat for pFsense as far as internal modems go but i couldnt find anything
