Help me pick out a sports sedan.

Alright well i've been casually looking for a car, but it's time to get a little more serious about it.

I'm willing to go up to 12k for a sweet deal, but would prefer to keep it at about 10. I'm thinking of growing up a little and getting a 4 door sports sedan. I've been looking at Maxima's, Passats, Jetta's, a little at the Volvo S40 and S70, Acura TL.

I would like something reliable and quick. I'm not to picky about gas mileage, as long as it gets over 20mpg. I also want something *nice*. You know leather, power everything, moonroof. And about in the 60k mile range and years of 1999 - 2003.

The reason why the passats and jetta's are appealing to me is because I can find a 1999 - 2003 with 50k miles with loaded for like 10k. I'm just scared of the reliability 🙁.

What other cars out there am I forgetting? Any input?

The Maxima is the best deal out of the whole group - it's more sport than anything else you listed, and can be found with decent luxury features. It's the original 4DSC - 4-door sports car 😛

neither passat nor jetta is a sport sedan.
Yeah but it's a hell of a lot more sportier than a camry. A passat or jetta with a 1.8T or V6 is decently sporty.

/me smacks nimrod on the back of the head

Find me a WRX in that price range with those amount of miles and i'll buy it.

Chevy Impala 3.8 supercharged V6 5 spoke alloy rims spoiler sunroof etc
Sounds interesting, could you show me an example?

Hmmm i dunno.

Does anybody have any experience with the volvo S40 or S70? I've got quite afew of those in the 60k range near my house for about 10k. They look interesting, 5 cylinder turbo, some with all wheel drive.

if the cavaliers they're based on are any indication they're one of the worst cars ever created.....(looking at least on CR ratings, which are at least fairly reliable)

We have a V70 which is a S70 with a hatchback, its a '99 still going very strong, it has around 210k kilometers on it, which is about 130k miles I think.
