So the reviews for the Nvidia 5xx series (minus the 560), and ATI 69xx cards are out, and I am looking for something to replace my aging 8800GT. I have read a lot of reviews and benchmarks, but I still can't decide. My budget is around $300-$350, so here are my my options:

ATI Radeon HD 6950
ATI Radeon HD 6970
Nvidia GTX 570

I will be running at 1680x1050 (With a possible upgrade to 1900x1200 by sometime next year). I want to run on high detail. AA and AF are important too, but they don't need to be maxed. Looking to play all the big releases next year (Crysis 2, Rage, Bulletstorm, NFS: Shift 2, Dues Ex, etc).

I'm currently running a Core 2 E8400 @ 3GHz, but will probably be making a switch to SB when it's released.

Thanks all!

I voted for the 6950.

Good price, excellent Crossfire scaling, newest features available, Eyefinity, Probably a nice OCer (didn't read on that), gonna get better with drivers update, etc...

I voted 570, as I dont like XF\SLI and its probably advisable to get the most powerful card you can afford for the future LCD....

none of those cards are really appropriate at 1680x1050 with an E8400. something like a gtx460 or the upcoming gtx560 would be much more sensible.

That I agree with. There is a 460 out there right now for under $100 (although it has a pretty steep rebate)

Voted 6950. I just got one as well, so I’ll share my reasoning. My original budget was $300. I was close to getting a 570, $50 isn’t much, but I wanted to stick with my original budget. From what I saw in the reviews, the 570 and 6950 both were great bang/bucks; dollar/fps. I don’t care for Cuda, PhysX, or Eyefinity. What ultimately swayed my decision was 2GB and display port on the 6950. I eventually want to upgrade my monitor as well and I felt that 2G/display port, as well as meeting my original $300 budget, fit my current and future plans.

460 unless you know for sure you are getting a new display, then either a 570 or 6950.

Uh oh, looks like the green team is winning! :) Of course, the truth is any of these cards are fantastic.
