Hi Ya'll

I will be making my first laptop purchase.

My Needs are:
Mobile computing to keep in touch on the road
E-mail, word processing, Web surfing etc.

Pretty sure I'm getting a dell

Don't need a gaming machine(my two monster desktops are for that:D

Surely want centrino
512 ddr
Not sure about video--Will onboard work acceptably?

Have $1,000 to 1,300 to spend
Would like 4 or 5 years of usefull life

Thanks in advance

Build quality, features, price and therefore target market. Inspiron's target market are consumers. Latitude is business. Latitude build quality is better but you give up some features, like gaming capable graphics.

IBM X31
Just add another 256Mb Ram and the wireless card
If your a 1st time buyer you can get a discount of probably about 5%
but that would put you at 1442 + your local tax if applicable and shipping is included
Just a thought.

You would need to call and speak to sales rep.
