I went to Diamond.com and looked at loose diamonds with her and she chose a princess diamond. The princess diamond we picked. Can anyone tell me if $1990 for that diamond is reasonable? Also any other place online/offline that you would recommend us to go and find our engagement ring? Thanks.

wow that's a very nice site dude. Thanks. I dont mind paying a couple hundred more dollars over the expected price as long as the diamond is of good quality and the site is reputable. Sounds like I may get it for her then.

That sounds reasonable to me. It seem like alot for a half carat, but it is a D in color, which is huge IMO.
I am a fan of smaller diamonds that are higher quality over big crappy looking stones. You only need to look at a stone that has bad flaws or is a K or below in color to see the difference it makes.

There are plenty of diamond buying sites on the web. Google can find 'em for you. That'll give you basis for comparison.

And if you're not sure about your diamond education, check out http://www.goodoldgold.com, which I've found to be the best diamond education site I've found.

Those are some big rocks. I hope my future wife would rather get a big screen or new computer. :)
