I picked my schedule with 4 classes but I am only taking 3. I have a faceoff now between two similar classes. Both are special topics classes which means that the professor specifically requested to teach them and specifically cares about the material. I think both courses sound interesting and I will probably be happy in either but I have to pick one of them.
Course A: Topics in Communication Networks (old site)
+ I know the professor well.
= It should basically be a review of recent research in networking topics.
- The schedule is Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Course B: Wireless Sensor Networks (No old site)
+ I don't know the professor but I hear good things about him.
+ I know very little about this area so I stand to learn a good amount.
+ The schedule is only Mondays.
- There is no web site up to review and I don't know anyone who has taken this course when it was last offered.
