Help me pick an mp3 player

So my birfday is just a few days away and I've decided to give myself an mp3 player as a little gift as a sort of congratulations for how much of a pimp I am 😛

I don't reallly want to spend more than $100 at the most after shipping and stupid CA sales tax. And I want to use it for running so it's gotta be solid state.

Any suggestions?
 
shuffle or ipod...is there anything else really?
even if there is...you dont want to be the guy with the non apple player.
 
Screw Apple.

If it were a year ago, I'd recommend nothing but the iRiver H140. Since they don't make them anymore, I can't recommend anything. That was the best player ever. I had one but I lost it and I'm mega annoyed about that.

stupid sales tax :| oh well with the free shipping it's like dell's paying for it.

and apple shuffle can suck my ass! 😀
 
It's the same one I have (paid $120 for it, though, a couple months ago). Great little player, but I will admit the stock headphones suck. They're too big for my ears and fall out when I run...no, my ears are not "small" 😛 I resorted to an old pair that I had and fit fine.
 
get something expandable via SD/CF. i found that 512mb to be not enough. you'd have to swap out the music couple of times a week.

too late now!

But 512 should be fine. My last mp3 player was a 32mb Nomad II :Q (anyone remeber that emusic deal?) and I lived with that for 3 years.
