Help me pick a Sedan.

Requirements:

Want to spend around 30k at most

4 doors

6 cylinder

Automatic.

frivilous options? HID lights, moonroof, upgraded stereo.

most of all, it needs to be comfy!

no american cars, no sporty micro cars.

I'm a little lost. I like the new saab 93's, but they are front wheel drive with the turbo 4...

Also, I just realized the TSX can be outfitted with a auto...but it's a high output 4 cyl, not a six.

I would mainly look at the Acura TL. The Audi's are very nice, but once you start to add options they are usually going to go past your 30k ceiling. Of course looking at used may change that. Same thing with the IS300.

I have had great luck with Acura's. Which is why I recommend them. You can pick up a one or two year old type S with Nav for under 30. Or just get a new none Nav TL.

Accord V6 sedan - interior is very roomy and comfortable, interior quality is top notch...

Mazda 6 sedan - I think the interior is worse than the Accord, but more sporty...

Too bad you weren't doing this 6 months ago. You could have picked up a brand new 2003 Nissan Maxima SE for close to $22k.

Still, you could get a new one now for around $30k.

You can get a maxed-out VW Passat, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, or Honda Accord for $30K. I'd lean towards the Honda.

If you need something more up-scale, the Acura TSX or TL might be possilbities. You might be able to get a G35 or IS300 for $30K, but I usually see both around $32K or so. I don't think you could do BMW, Audi, or Mercedes.

Well, while I did not mention either I would say the Accord is something to consider. My little brother just got a '04 EX V6 Accord for right around 26k I think. Its a nice car. Has 240hp as well. It can certainly compete in most areas (power, ergonomics, fit/finish, and so on) with most of the other ones mentioned so far.

I would say that a new maxxed Accord is a very nice car. Just because its affordable, doesn't mean that its a piece of junk.

The new TL's are going over msrp, greedy dealers.

I wonder if I can find an 03 Maxima locally...Accords and 6 are nice, but I want something a little nicer. Acura TSX with auto is a little pokey.

I have an RSX-S right now...it's just too small, my back is killing me, and after commuting, I hate manuals transmission. Just to give you an idea of how much I drive, I bought the car March 18, 2003 and have 21,000 miles already.

I know you said know domestic, but a Lincoln LS looks like your ideal car. They are roomy, they handle like a dream, they are a smooth ride, and you can get a THX sound system as an option. I wouldn't be afraid of this car, as it is one of the best in its class.

Edit:

Volvo S40 and S60 are also ideal fits, if you can't stand the idea of owning a Lincoln.

The LS has gotten HORRIBLE ratings from a number of people though. Maybe they are better now but I know the past few model years have had crap reliability.

Accord an 6 are nice, but Im going to get it righ this time. I intend to have this car until it dies, so I want somethin gI will be happy with. Not to imply those are bad cars by any means, just not for me. Though, the 6 is a beautiful car.

325 and A4 are probably the two nicest on that list. They are also the highest in maintenance costs.

After that, I would say Mercedes > Saab > Maxima.

Since you will be looking at used to keep it under 30k to you have any hard rules about how old it can be and miles?
