I want a mobo that has nVidia Soundstorm MCP-T for its 5.1 output, so I've narrowed my choices to these 2:

Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
Abit NF7-S

For the most part, they seem to have pretty much the same feature set. Newegg has a refurbished A7N8X for $50, the other one new is $87. Thoughts? Thanks!

I don't see that the Asus has the nvidia audio per the specs at newegg. But I'm pretty sure it does.
Manufacturers change specs on boards all the time, so I'd definately follow up on this detail.

I have no experience with either board, but I'd probably choose the Asus -- assuming it had the nvidia audio.
Another thing I noticed was that the Abit has a fan on the chipset, which might be noisy.
The Asus also has a special port for a wifi board... which might come in handy -- depending on your setup.

good luck

This is the newegg product page for the Asus board-says nForce2 Ultra, MCP-T w/Soundstorm. Is this a typo?

Hmmm... well I guess it's not a typo. I looked at the product manual at asus and it shows the same thing.
I was confusing "realtek codec" with "nvidia apu".

The asus board looks good to me....
