help me pick a mobo!

DFI nF4 Infinity for $ 85.64, it absolutely looks like sh*t, but is a very strong overclocker...

As for the HSF... Man, they only offer 7! 🙁 I'd advice getting an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro (NewEgg has 'em for $ 34.99)

This would make for some $ 120...

Ow, my mistake... :Q

The A8N-SLI is pretty good, but they aren't know as the best overclockers around (max. VCore is 1.55V)... It lacks a bit of the features of its Deluxe brother, but is nonetheless quite good for its price...

There is an SLI version of that Infinity board for about $120. Or you could get the popular Ultra-D for the same price, which in many cases can be modded to SLI.

If there is, then that would be a better choice when looking at overclocking potential... The nF4 Ultra-D can't be modded to SLI as easy as it could... You already have to scrape away solderings etc... Not for beginners...

No mobo mfrs are officially supporting Opterons on desktop boards that I know of. My suggestions:

Mobo with SLi support: Epox 9NPAJ SLi (no firewire) or Epox 9NPA+ SLi (with firewire)
Cooler: Arctic Freezer 64 Pro

Those would be very good choices indeed, but none of 'em appears in the list at Monarchcomputer unfortunately... 🙁
