Help me pick a cooler

I put together this computer about a year ago. I've been using the stock cooler and not overclocking at the moment. I would like to try overclocking and in need of a good cooler. I'm looking for a cooler that is easy to install without removing the motherboard. I was planning to get XIGMATEK HDT-S1283, but I read online that it's difficult to install without removing the motherboard from the case.

Does anybody have advice on a quality cooler that is relatively easy to install? I put together a computer for the first time. It's been working great and I'd rather not mess anything up.

If you want to get a good cooler, definitely be prepared to take out your mobo. Otherwise the mounting would not be that secure. Any cooler that is worth its salt will weigh a lot. The puny little push pins just won't cut it.

The Tuniq tower I have was rather easy to install, jsut make sure all 4 screws are tightened the same amount but it uses a backplate so the mobo must be removed. It was a good ~10C cooler than stock cooler when I had it OCd to 3.0 ghz

Buy the XIGMATEK HDT-S1283
Buy the XIGMATEK Back Plates Screw Mount KIT with Cooler

Its much better than Push Pins

Remove the MoBo and add a piece of plain double wall cardboard behind the Bracket between the Case with a drop of crazy glue or tape to hold cardboard in place..

This way you can take off cooler without fear of bracket falling down behind MoBo..

You will need Needle Nose Pliers to install Cooler Fan..

Grab fan mounting rubber end nib with pliers and pull while pushing fan up tight against cooler at same time...

Insalling the fan is a pain but now you know how to do it so just take your time...
