Nope, I hate pacific rim cars. Hyundai, Proton, Kia etc all shit.

Have you driven any of the new Hyundais? They're quite a bit better than they used to be. Elantra's a bit bouncy on the suspension but the Sonata is a very nice whip for what it costs. Easily nicer than the Fusion and Malibu IMO. They seem to hold up to abuse well too. I'll also say that the Kia Sorrento is one of the nicest SUVs on the market right now.

<-- Honda/Ford guy.

Did you even read the OP?

And OP, did she ask for help or are you offering it?

She's insisting that I help her. I think I'm just gonna tell her to get the Sonata. I have no idea why she thinks it's "sporty" or "makes her look hot," but whatever. LOL

Its really not a bad car. My parents have one and I like it except for the crap 6-speed manual my dad insisted on getting.

Why don't you think I have read OP? Of course I did, and I imply that OP keep inditing on getting a Mazda, as it is a sporty car with great MPG.

Yes, they're really that bad IMHO. The clutch has no feel and has no resistance while the shifter is rubbery and vague. To make matters worse, the throttle has a very aggressive tip-in making a smooth start far more difficult than it needs to be. They've had the car over a year and it makes me sick to my stomach sitting in the car with either of them behind the wheel.

The automatic version is far nicer.

I rented a sonata and drove it like a rental, I only had it for 3 days, but couldn't really find any reason to hate it. Among mid-size sedans being average isn't really a bad thing anymore.

God, I have to disagree, never get a pacific rim car. (possibly except the Hyundai Coupe)

Why? Hyundai is seriously on the come up...my friend leased a fully loaded 2011 Sonata and there really aren't too many short comings to speak of at that price range.

Who cares what your sister buys, sounds like she will ruin yet another car.

I'd tell her a Fiat 500, and if she asks why, tell her J.Lo drives one when she visits the NY ghettos. If she asks anything else, just keep reiterating the J.Lo point really enthusiastically.
