OK, so the wife unit & I are gonna celebrate 10 years!! Wooohooo. Feels like it's been about 2, but time flies. Soooooooo......

Live in So Cal & pretty much seen all of Cali so lookin' to get out of state. Did Hawaii for honeymoon, don't necessarily want/need to do FL since we've got Disneyland here & usually get annual passes, etc. so kinda' maybe lookin' at Seattle but somebody highly recommended Vancouver instead?? Maybe both??

Any suggestions between these 2 or otherwise would be MUCH appreciated!!

(Example of place gone bad........Though about doing the Grand Hotel in MI, but prices & dress-code makes it unrealistic. Tie after 6pm?? $200 per person per nite?? C'mon, gimme a break!!!) 😉

TIA!!!

manteca, california 😉

cabo is nice i hear. i want to check out yellowstone again, i've only been there once. Been to yosemite many times.

other than the obligitory bump and grind, what kinds of activities are you wanting to do?

Vancouver sounds fun, but mostly as a getaway... for relaxation mainly.

If you are looking for some excitement, maybe a cruise isn't out of the question. Once you're on, you usually only pay tips.

Did a cruise for our 5 year to Ensenada. Was nice but that'll probably last 'til our 20th when I'd like to do an Alaskan Cruise.

I'm a "get up & do something" kinda' guy. My wife's a "snuggle by the fire/TV & catch a movie" kinda' chick. I can go either way so no biggie. I like views too. Once we stayed in Dana Point & spent one whole day just watching the ocean w/ the sliding glass door open. Not gonna hit the slopes or anything.

what time of the year? seattle weather is kind of crappy these days... as a hardened seattlelite, i don't mind, but it might be a better trip for you if you came in the summer.

if you're into the ocean and stuff, oregon coast is nice... there are also a lot of islands in washington that you could go to.

Well, Disney World is a helluva lot bigger/more spectacular than Disneyland, but it's also a runaround kind of vacation. There's so much to see and do that you almost need a week to unwind when you get back.

You might be better off heading to one of the less travelled beaches in FL. Seattle isn't bad. Never been to Vancouver, but I hate the cold.

Wife Unit. Yes, WU!!! We use it on another board.

WU-wife unit
HU=husband unit
KU=kid unit
GU=girlfriend unit
BU=boyfriend unit
Dog=dog!! 😉

Indonesia.......ya, sure!! I'm quite sure the WU will be all over it!! DOh!!

I also thought about east coast, but my folks live in NC & we were just there last year for Christmas.

I can totally dig the rain so rain's no biggie. (Anybody seen So Cal in the news lately? he he)

And, so I take it nobody's from Seattle here on this board???

Just go for Vancouver & roll the dice???

I've been to Seattle, and its a really nice town.

I could come up with a better recommendation for you if I knew what you two like to do together - hiking, clubbing, shopping, theme parks, etc.?

I live in Vancouver. It's great here, but the summers are definitely nicer. You could hit up Whistler and just hang around the village. It's nice up there... views, mountains... that kinda stuff.

I just don't wanna head to Mexico right now. (probably watching too much "24") Har har!!

We did have a great time in the Ensenada game, but ever since 9/11 I've been a little sketchy about leavin' the country. I know, I know it's just our neighbors, but Vancouver is even tight for me, but I'd rather Canada than Mexico right now.

As for things to do. Well, while I could do tons, like I said earlier, my wife is more a "Let's shop" or "Let's see a movie" kinda' girl. When we go to Lake Arrowhead it's usually to sight see, take the ferry or just sit in the room & watch it snow, etc.

For Seattle, I'd probably just sight-see. My buddy recommended Vancouver 'cuz you could see people snow-ski from the village (I have no clue what the "village" is) and he thought it was just beautiful. So that's probably the kinda' thing we'd do. Grab a drink & check out the scenery. Maybe catch ferries to islands (Seattle's or Vancouver's) to say we actually "got out".

The village is the touristy town of Whistler. It'd be great this time of year. Just google it for some info.

Are you guys looking to stay within the continent? My aunt and uncle took their honeymoon in Ireland & Scotland and said it was AMAZING. Visiting some old castles and just taking a drive through the countryside gave them a sweet collection of pictures, too.

Whew!! Heck, ya! Bora, Bora would be friggin' awesome, but you guys are pricin' me right out of my house!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!

Think CHEA...............errrr..............FRUGAL!!! 😉

Where would YOU take the WU on your 10th????????

Vancouver/Banff???

Wish I could golf at Banff Springs, but I'm guessin' it'd be pretty hard to find the ball?? LOL!!! (Not to mention the WU wold KILL me!) 😉
