Help me overclock! PLEASE!

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I have an issue. I just finished building my new rig and I have no complaints thus far about performance besides that of my cpu. My current config is:

Anyway my current rig is:
Athlon 64 3000+ (winnie core)
Asus A8V-Deluxe
2xWestern Digital 36.7GB Raptors in RAID 0
1GB Kingston HyperX PC4000
ATI X800XT

The only problem that I have is overclocking the cpu on this board. The bios functions confuse the hell out of me and honestly I dont understand the overclocking options presented. If anyone has any idea as to how I can go about o'cing my chip more than 1.98GHz please feel free to post.

Motherboards forum people can't help you as well as Proc/OC forum.

Set max memory clock at DDR400 (200)
Set CPU voltage to 1.55
Set HTT at 250mhz
Set CPU multi to 9x
Set HTT multi to 3x
Command rate 1T
Everything else Auto

If you can boot to windows with these settings, run memtest and Prime95 small files to test for stability. Increase the HTT in increments testing for stability as you go. If you start getting errors with memtest, increase the DDR volts and or loosen the memory timings.

While *SOME OF*the previous responses do lack a little tact, it is true that many here get very tired of ppl posting only for the purpose of serving themselves to their own end and expecting that because many of us have spent years honing a skill and improving our knowledge that it should automatically be our responsability to produce a walkthrough, step-by-step guide everytime someone buys or builds a new computer.

There are hundreds, even thousands of guides out there to teach you and tell you everything you want to know about overclocking, 99.9% of them accessible from www.google.com. You have already done a good job in picking out components to build your pc, and hopefully you did this without asking somone else for help every step of the way, as that is how you will gain satisfaction from what you have accomplished.

Just a quick search of these forums alone will probably find you everything you need to know, you just have to put out a little effort. Only yesterday I practically had to write a guide just to help someone understand Zebo's guide to A64 overclocking, here. Once you have done your homework and put in the effort, im certain ppl wil be more welcoming of your questions.

The reason that I was posting the comment was due to the fact that my board wont overclock past a certain point. I did follow the cheap and dirty a64 overclocking guide and it didnt help so I was reaching out in hopes that someone else who had this board might have a suggestion. I understand that your words are kind and helpful but can be taken as rather condescending. So I will ask evevryone out their, if your not intending on helping please dont bother posting.

Well, you bought the wrong MB. Did you research this before you bought it?
Sorry, but the Asus board is just NOT a good overclocking MB. You should have gotten an NF4 board such as the MSI Neo4 or the DFI Ultra-D.

if its not overclocking past a certain point then you've reached your max, at least with the combo your using. nothing really you can do about without swapping other components.
