I have that same board; other than changing timings and letting it run sync with the fsb I can't do anything. Maybe a newer bios has unlocked some option I've missed but that's all folks for me. The x version of this board doesn't have all of the full overclocking options the standard a7v8x does, we paid less and got less, but damn it is stable. Good luck and please post if you find something I overlooked. No vdimm option according to asus btw. One newer bios has the option to go to cas 3 but I never needed it.

I personally have a A7N8X deluxe, so I dont know that much about the X. You might want to try an Uber Bios as they have a lot of features enables that the stock Asus BIOS have disabled. I am running one on my deluxe and havent had any problems at all. That page does not list what is enabled in that bios, but if you search in the ASUS forums at AMBMB I am sure you can find out more info.

the best way to do it is to drop your multi to 10, up to fsb to 200 and run it tin sunch(1:1) mode. and if you want to oc the proc further than that you can up the fsb some but you will be limited and if that still isn't fast enough on th proc side then you can up the multi to 10.5 or 11 or whatever your chip and mobo can handle. you sould easily be able to get ddr400, 2.0-2.3ghz out of it. once again the biggest factors are the chip which si really unpredictable, the rram which seems like it should be ok to get ddr400 out of it, and you cooling. your cooling must be adequate to get his out of it.
