So, I have an Opty 175 and already have it at 250x10 at 1.375v. Now I seem to be hitting a wall. I gave the chip 1.45v (reads 1.52 in Speedfan) and even at that many volts with a 166 memory divider, 260x10 ISN'T STABLE. HTT K8 to NB is at 3x and my way of testing it is playing Quake 4 till it freezes (much better/faster way then waiting for inaccurate prime to fininsh).

This is what I have found. 250x10 plays Quake 4 fine. 260x10 (with alot of voltage) freezes quake 4 with a 166 memory divider. Does that mean my processesor just can't OC???? I know Opty's can do better than that, and I got a half-way decent stepping too.

Help a desperate guy and his Opty out!!!!

:p

try the 11x multiplier...

It might be your mobo doesn't like anything greater than 250... but i have yet to run into that problem my self, but give it a try.

Yeah, for some reason, some Optys don't like 12x multiplier, so lower to 11x and reconfigure.
