This is the TV I bought

Paid $260 for it, I think, best-looking curved-tube TV I looked at. In my opinion the flat TVs at the same price point didn't look very good, and I didn't want to spend a lot more.

For "stuff" in general, garage/yard/estate sales and classifieds are your best friend. I got a sweet desk for $20 from an ad in the thrifty nickel.

Wait until classes get out and people start moving out of dorms and apartments around your local university. TONS of stuff to snag then.

I agree with this. Dont know where you are at but in NYC you can just walk around the high rise apartment buildings and find alot of furniture. Try the Salvation Army. Buying new stuff for a college place is a pain since you will just be dragging it around for 4 years from apartment to apartment.

Will you actually be living ALONE? No roommates? No GF? I hope for your sake that you are. Living alone ROCKS the box, man.

Male roommates are pigs. GF roommates will stifle you to the point of wanting to slit your wrists. Nookie on Friday, booze on Saturday and SWEET, sweet solitude the rest of the time. 😎

Yeah totally alone, no girlfriends or roommates at alll..

I'm sitting here in my apartment now alone it is great..
Got broadband up and running already today....loving it.

I've spent about $250 so far....

I purchased this
link

Everything is really crappy but, for 29.43...it made it a no brainer....I'll just replace some of the stuff along as I find deals on stuff I like better

bought a Toaster...iced tea maker (a absolute necessity), Down throw, tv stand (still no tv).
a small round hippy looking kinda chair from target for $35 bucks, and a bunch of other stuff, shower curtain, alieve toilet paper etc..

Saw a pretty nice couch today at goodwill for $150 but, I'm still thinking about taking up a 37 month no-interest deal, that a furniture store here in town is offering....and getting a set.....not sure yet.....I'll think about this for another day or two..

I gotta get a tv soon though

Crappy thing is that the Anti-lock and brake lights are coming on and stay on in my car when I go about 5 ft. after putting the car in drive.....🙁 So, I gotta take my car to a shop somewhere tommorrow and hope that this isn't going to eat to far into my movig money.

Check the classified section of the local/school paper and get used everything. Most likely there will be some people who have to sell their stuff because they are graduating/moving away.

Buy used.

Check classifieds, craigslist, yard sales, etc. and you'll be SET for cheap. Spend a little time and you'll be able to do it up right for next to nothing.

Pick up stuff like shower curtains at Target or wherever for cheap. Towels and such from Ross.

You don't need a furniture set 😉 Or, if you do, don't buy new. You don't need it.
