ill start with my sys info:

windows 7 ult 64
ASrock 990fx killer
Nvidea GTX 1050ti
Seasonic 620w
16gb dual channel DDR3
AMD FX 8320 8 core
1TB WD HD
500gb wd hd

So im having random game ceashes when playing, in particular, demanding games: BF1, Star Wars BF, Fallout $, Far Cry 4. This has been going on forever and I keep thinking its

this component or that component....I've replaced every part in my PC now thinking each part was the culprit and the same thing keeps happening. I have, of course, reinstalled

windows multiple times, formatted hard drives; spyware and virus scans; rolled back and updated drivers; cleaned registry; uninstalled the offending games and reinstalled

them; But it keeps happening and ive spent a fortune trying to fix this.
It's not the temps either. Nothing gets above 50-60 C under heavy load. I'm seriously thinking of giving up and going the dreaded console route if I cant firgure this out.
One error I get is simply, for example, BF1 has stopped working. This is one I found in evnt viewer for Star Wars:

Faulting application name: starwarsbattlefront.exe, version: 1.0.7.64833, time stamp: 0x586bb774
Faulting module name: starwarsbattlefront.exe, version: 1.0.7.64833, time stamp: 0x586bb774
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0000000003894d72
Faulting process id: 0xa08
Faulting application start time: 0x01d36011920b76a4
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\STAR WARS Battlefront\starwarsbattlefront.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\STAR WARS Battlefront\starwarsbattlefront.exe
Report Id: 907e6c89-cc05-11e7-9cc9-d05099876a22

Can anyone please tell me what could be going on?

i have blue screen view but i dont know how to access the BSOD file.
Edit: actually i've learned that it scans blue screen events automatically so if its not listed then it wasnt a bsod event i guess.

I know you have cleaned the registry (which most of the time you shouldn't do), do maybe run a driver cleaner program, and then install the current video card drivers. Without a crash report, it's tougher to diagnose. If you Google the offset code, there are a ton of variables possible.

You can download Western Digital's Data Lifeguard to test your drives:

https://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?p=3

Test memory:

https://www.memtest86.com

You said previously you have replaced every single component, so if that is the case, it has to be a software related issue.

Yeah its gotta be software, even though i've reinstalled windows several times. Hard drives came back clean and i just bought this RAM brand new

Just to be sure, "APPCRASH" is NOT a BSOD. BSOD is the OS itself (drivers, kernel) crashing, APPCRASH is just a process exception, and doesn't affect the kernel (assuming that it can cleanly terminate the process).

These can both be caused by faulty hardware, such a bad RAM (in such an area, that the bad RAM is used by applications, but not the kernel), or a bad CPU (in very rare cases, or in less rare cases, due to overheating or VRM issues).

Edit: Btw, AppCrash exception numbrer 0xC0000005 is actually quite common, I forget if that's a RAM read/write exception, or a breakpoint. But it's not a hardware issue, that I can see. (Other than possibly bad RAM.)

Still test the RAM by using memtest, because sometimes some RAM and motherboards have issues playing nice together.

Yeah, I just figured as many things he has done, there was a BSOD on there somewhere that might help figure something out.

I think I may have figured it out. I bought a copy of driver booster and ran it. Turns out tons of my drivers, which I thought windows update took care of, are out of date. Ill check back to confirm. If this is the case I'm very much a noob, but I ended up with a pretty decent system :)

Oh, I thought that you were going to tell us that installing Driver Booster was causing the AppCrashes. There was another user here in the OS subforum, getting some sort of crashes (in Win10 IIRC), and it actually turned out to be due to the installation of a software "driver update" utility like that one. Something was conflicting.

Yeah, most of the "booster" and "cleaner" apps cause more problems than they help. I don't think I've used anything like that in about 20 years (Norton Utilities).

Uninstall any kind of cleaning programs you might have. They typically delete the Windows log/dump files so you can't actually see what is causing the BSOD. Use the program WhoCrashed to analyze the dump files after they happen.

Reinstalling windows won't do much unless you uninstall it and format the drive it was on first, then install it fresh.
I'd update the drivers first though. What did you do just before this started happening? Install new software, visit a hacked website, etc?

That's not true, you can set them to not delete any files you choose.

I understand, but some cleaning programs are very aggressive and delete them by default. In CCleaner you have to check off the box to delete dump/log files.

I agree , they are all junk and cause more problems than they fix !!

Reinstalling windows won't do much unless you uninstall it and format the drive it was on first, then install it fresh

Forget the format, write zeros to it prior to the install !!!

I just looked at the drivers for your board on Asrock's website, and I would only install those if you have to, and if Windows doesn't automatically install a newer version. Some of them were last updated in 2013.

http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/Fatal1ty 990FX Killer/?cat=Download&os=Win764

For example. the AMD all-n-one driver is from 11/26/2013. You should be able to get newer drivers here:

http://support.amd.com/en-us

Hmmm, can you try underclocking your RAM? And make sure that the CPU is running a stock.
hmmm. i havent touched the cpu settings since it came out of the box. is it possible for it to end up overclocked accidentally? ill look into underclocking the RAM.
