Help me name this 80's sci-fi show

I remember a show from the mid-80s about a family (husband, wife, two teens) who had accidentally traveled through a triangular portal while either on vacation or while escavating ruins. They traveled to a alternate universe type place where they lived in a police state like society. They were outsiders and were always affraid of being discovered. They was one guy who was always out to get them, and chased them from place to place as they tried to find there way home. I think it was on for one season.

Any ideas...

It was not porn. It was an hour long show on in the evenings. I think the head bad guy was a general of some sort with a scar on his face. The military work black outfits and black helmets. They drove hover cars/trucks
