Okay...well dunno if this board will be any help but what the hell.

I'm going to be starting a photography business next year which will focus (hahaha...ha..erm) on weddings and portraits. I cannot think of a name for the thing though =/ at least not one that's obviously used.

You better be using the Canon 16.6 megapixel camera.....Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II...it will cost you a leg and an arm but then you can name your business something like ProFoto

I have a Canon EOS 20D with the following lenses:

17-40L
24-70L
17-85mm IS USM
28-135mm IS USM
50mm prime
85mm prime

I will get more as needed. I don't have much in the way of portrait samples up but...click on this link for some of my landscape stuff:

Clicky

BTW..a 1Ds Mark II, while an excellent camera, is not required for shooting good portraits or weddings or anything really. The 16MP sensor comes in quite handy if you want to be doing magazine work, but I can easily print stuff from my 8.2MP sensor to 16x20 and it looks great. I shoot in RAW and print from TIFF.

You sure you want to get into wedding photography? I've heard of a lot of photographers (and have talked to one) that say it really sucks because it gets mundane and ceases to become enjoyable, artistic, and self-satisfying, unlike freelance or nature photography.

Well...portrait and wedding photography is where the money is (I'm doing a wedding in Oct. for $1000). You won't make much trying to sell nature photos. I do take landscapes in my spare time as they are what I truly love to do. As long as I have time left for my personal photography then that will be enough.

Right now it's just going to be an on the side thing that will help me make a few extra bucks.
