help me! my front speaker jack died.

i have a stereo setup normally plugged into the front speaker output on my 4.1 channel sound card. for some reason, the front speaker output on my sound card is messed up now. i have the speakers plugged into where the rear speakers would normally go. music plays fine, but i have no sound in games. if i enable surround sound in games, i only hear what's behind me. windows has a balance control (moving all the sound to either the right or left speaker), but i can't find a fade control (to move all front speaker noises to the rear). does anyone know of a workaround or a third party app or something... anything i can do to make this work.
 
It may help you get an answer to your problem if you describe
what your system consists of (OS, Soundcard & Motherboard MFG, etc...)
