Help me make this setup quieter!

Help me make this quieter without spending too much money :

TT Tsunami with Clear Window
1x120mm fan in the back
1x120mm fan in the front
1x90mm fan on the side (currently off)

MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
Replaced stock NB cooler with ZALMAN NB-47J (passive heatsink)

Athlon 64 3000+
Stock heatsink

Built by ATi Radeon x800XT PCI-E
Stock cooler

Antec Neopower

I'm thinking XP-120 for the CPU Cooler ... what's a good 120mm fan to go with that AND to replace the 2 120mm case fans?

Any suggestions?

Maybe a low panaflo for your case. 🙂
Maybe a different VGA cooler for your video card. I suggest an arctic silencer. You should get a Hardcano 13 or another fan speed controller for those fans. You'll also want the 90mm fan to run if you've got 4 sticks of ram in there, it'll overheat as I learned.

Which panaflo? I'm confused with all the different models

I have 2 1GB RAM sticks

And is the XP-120 good? Which fan would go with that?

Panaflo has many different models, but the consesus is the get the low model for quiet. Or to get the ultra-high or high models and put them on a fan controller for variable speeds.

EDIT: Doh! Spelling error!

If you want to use the XP120, assuming that it can actually fit with your mobo and case, you want to have a nice, quiet 120mm fan on it. I would go with a low-speed Yate Loon/Nexus, and put it on a fan controller.

Other things you should do to quiet down your system:

1) CUT OUT THOSE STAMPED FAN GRILLS. They restrict airflow and cause noisy turbulance.

2) Replace the X800 stock cooler as Kensai suggested. There is no such thing as a quiet stock vid card fan.

3) Put your case fans on fan controllers as well.

4) The Antec Neopower is a nice PSU stability-wise, but it's not as efficient and cool-running (and hence quiet) as a Seasonic. It might be a case of diminishing margin of returns, but if all else being quiet and you still notice noise from your PSU, think about replacing it with a Seasonic S12.

HTH.

I was thinking:

L1 or M1 Panaflo for the XP120. I know L1's are quiet and all, but I can barely hear my M1 (supposed to be 35dba but I can't hear it at all). But be careful Panaflo's are big and heavy as fvck.

Replace the X800 cooler with an ATISilencer.

Get some orange YL/Nexus fans or L1/M1 Panaflos for the case. And by no means replace your PSU, that would be an extra 100 dollars to replace a perfectly good PSU you had already spent 100 dollars on just to make it quieter?

With those changes you'll see drastic sound improvements.

And just out of curiosity, what do you do Amol that takes 2gb ram? Photoshop I'm guessing?

Hey, I have 2GB on my desktop. 😛
Helps with my multi-tasking. 🙂

Also, the Tsunami's fans are notoriously loud, you'll want a fan speed controller or swap the fans for something else.
