I get paid every other Friday (twice per month for you non-math majors) so I usually split my monthly bills in half and set that money aside each check. On average, I clear $525 every two weeks.
$525
-100 ($200 monthly credit card payment / 2)
-97 ($195 monthly car payment / 2)
-70 ($140 monthly car insurance / 2)
-30 ($60 monthly gas / 2)
-30 ($60 monthly student loan / 2)
-20 ($40 monthly cell phone bill / 2)
That leaves me $178 every two weeks to pay for "everything else" (books, going out to eat, entertainment, etc.)
Is my "split in 2" method of bill payment the best strategy?
