Help me lowering my cpu temperature.

I've got 2 90mm case fans(one from side directly above the cpu) and one from lower front) drawing air into the case, an 120mm fan sucking out the air from the box, and AC Freezer 64 which I reset 4 times so far.

With all those plus 1.29V core voltage my Opty 165 running at 2.6ghz is generating 61C heat under dual prime runs, but system never crashed or failed the prime runs for 6 hours (6 hours is enough for me)

What else can I do to lower the cpu temperature?
Should I go water?

I think you need one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835106061 🙂

Its most likely your heatsink. Are you using arctic silver5? If not i recommend that, but since your temps are really high i would seriously consider investing into a new heatsink.

And just some advice, if you can only run dual prime stable for 6hrs, then you're not stable. To get it stable you need to increase your voltage, which is going to bring on more heat i'm sorry to say. Opterons get really hot.

Put a 120 mm fan in the bottom 3 5.25" bays (mod it in or buy a Scythe Kama Bay). Make sure the fans are also cranked up (unless your room is really hot, you should be getting something in the 45-50 range).

It's probably not stable because your voltage is so low.

How are you adjusting the fan speed on the AC 64? And which version is it?

Most posts about the AC Freezer 64 indicate it's a really effective CPU cooler.

I suggest that your system just generates too much heat for 92mm case fans.

An Antec 3000 is $50 or less, with one 120mm case fan included. Add the 120mm case fan from your current case, tape off side-vents and you should see Prime95 CPU temps of 50C or less.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for all the suggestions!
Well, I figured out what's is going on with my sytem.
It was Asus PC Prob II causing higher idle temperature. I was browsing thru processes in the task manager, and found PC Prob II is eating up like 22megs of memory. I couldn't use the Motherboard Monitor on A8N32, so I tried SpeedFan which only uses 8meg.
Upon Installing SpeedFan, I realized that my system idle temperature reading is around 10C lower than before. But I have no way of verifying that Speedfan reading is correct.

um check the bios immediately! not implying the pc probe was wrong 61 is not high but your v isnt up either! so hmm....
