Help me install Windows XP on a laptop with no CD-ROM!!!

Wow you guys are making this very more complicated than it is. The first responder was right, just copy the i386 folder, reboot to prompt, deltree your existing windows stuff, and then winnt. Works perfectly fine and he doesn't have to buy any extra equipment.

Later, convert the drive to ntfs if he wants to.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that strategy.
