Hi

I am not sure whether this is the right place to ask this question.
I intend to buy a video card for my comp (P4 3Ghz, 512 Ram). My budget is around $80 - $100. Which card would be the ideal one?
Can anyone help me with this?

I was searching through and came up with this deal ...

Nvidia - Geforce FX6200AGP
PALIT nVidia GeForce FX6200A 8X AGP Video Card 256MB DDR DVI TV-Out Retail Box

for $80 ....

Is this a decent deal? How are 6200 cards?

For that price range, a Radeon 9800 pro will be your best bet. They've had deals on them new for as low as $90-$100, and sell used for about the same.

The next step up would be at least a geforce 6600gt, but they are at least $135 used/refurbished.

The 5200 and 6200 cards are made for people who want a new video card, but who don't do 3d and are very slow in 3d applications - the radeon 9800 pro is probably around five times faster :)

Check out this:

Some people in another forum said they received a sealed retail box, so you may get lucky and get a brand new one. A few people also said theirs arrived dead, so be aware of that :)

This seems like a good deal, but they've been out of stock for a few days:

The 9600pro you listed isn't so bad for $75 if you want a new card. Go with that if you can't find anything else.

I just recently replaced my 9600XT with a X850XT. The 9600XT is a great, great card for how little it costs. It runs most of my games (CS:S, Far Cry, BF 2 and games of that like) well. I can't get all of the eye candy, but it's stable.
