Help me, I'm on fire!

I have a abit kt7a raid mobo and need some information. I bumbled my way through motherboard monitor and set up monitoring of three temperatures:
Temp 1-------Via686b-1 72 degrees F
Temp 2-------via686b-2 82
Temp 3-------via686b-3 81

I have been having random freeze up on this machine. After playing unreal tournament for about5-10 minutes, the game gets very laggy. I stopped the game, went back to mbm5 and that temp 3 was at
104 degrees F!!

Where is that sensor located? I removed my orb type heatsink, and replaced the standard thermal grease
with artic silver3 yesterday. It didnt seem to help.

Air flow is good, no other heat related problems that i know of. All the fans are working.

Running win98se with all drivers and patches. Ati all in wonder 128 multimedia card 16mb with up to date drivers. 384mb of crucial
pc133 ram. pci modem and nic. 2 western digital hds. 300 w ps. turtle beach sound. full tower case.

Any help would be appreciated.

104 F is not that hot. It's actually a little better than average. Install the latest VIA 4 in 1 drivers, and graphics card drivers.

DRIVER PROBLEMS CAUSE THE MOST TROUBLE!, at least in my opinion.

Good grief, on fire? Those are extremely LOW temps if they're actually in F as you said. A lot of guys are looking at 112F or higher idle temps and 120 (around 50C) is where I'd wait till I got concerned enough to dust my heatsinks.

And here I thought it was another one of those "AMD cpus run too hot and catch fire easily causing me to pour water on the motherboard and demand a refund and its all AMD's fault" threads again.🙂

LMAO that thread was classic! Only thing could have made it better was if he had been electocuted 🙂

With the "heat" DocSmarts took for his two goofs, maybe he shot himself!

Haven't seen him posting since.
