Probably looking for cats to prey upon.
My mind reels at the notion of a pussy eating beaver.

I had a bad nightmare that I came across another one in the same area and brought it home for the pelt as Dr. Pizza suggested. Then, somehow, it was alive when I came back home with some taxidermy stuff. My cat was dead and half-eaten. :( It was running toward me, and that's when I woke up.

Horrible monsters. We should kill them all.

It's a flamingo. The long thing is its bill. They change colors like that when they are sick, which is likely why it wandered into the road in the first place. The legs look particularly stumpy but they are known to shrivel some during rigor mortis.

Credentials:
I deal with flamingos every day in my profession. I can even tell you what they taste like (try it!). Some call me an "expert" but I digress.

You should grind a little of the bill over your flamingo steaks for added punch.

That's not its snout thats clearly its tail and back feet. Look at the pictures on the wiki. They match almost perfectly. Not to mention the feet in that first picture have nails facing downwards.

Lay on your stomach. Which of your appendages have nails facing downward?
