okay.. this last weekend i was given this little guy as a gift by my girlfriend. He's a cool little frog, roughly the size of a quarter.

does anybody have any clue as to what type of frog this is or how big it will get?

and also-- you can tell by the picture that his skin looks a little whacky-- do you think he's just shedding (do frogs shed like reptiles?) or does he have some funky skin disorder.

anyways... isnt he cool?

frog pwns joo.

UPDATE!
Xenopus laevis (African Clawed frogs) owns you. :)

I used to have a frog just like that. Then, it started to bloat up and wouldn't eat. I had to go away for the weekend, and when I got back, it had "burst" open. All of the other fish in the tank were in shock for a few day

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

Xenopus can be quite territoral, and will kill each other!!! Unless they are male and female. Dont put many in the same tank

Xenopus laevis (African Clawed frogs)

yep.. i think thats exactly what it is.

will grow to about 2 inches big, and the skin is normal, becuase they do shed. :)

now i have to think of a name for them..

oh yeah, right now his aquarium is pretty small-- maybe about 2 cups.
should i get a bigger aquarium for him?

If you value it being a live frog, yes, yes you should.

well, maybe its not actually that small.. its a small plastic aquarium about 5x5x6 inches.... approx. so maybe 4 cups of water.

but anyways, point taken-- im going to see about a larger aqarium and a little rock shelter for him to hide in.
