Help me identify this exhaust part!

It is actually an exhaust flange gasket. Looks like you just got the wrong one...

I was just about to say that too. You have to make sure you buy one for the right diameter. If you didn't you're just plain dumb!

Some exhaust systems use "donut" type gaskets and more commonly found between the header and catalytic converter.

It could be an actual flange. Sometimes exhaust pipes have a short stub that may go from the header to another pipe, and may be flared on the end to mate up with the end of the header. The flange piece would then be slipped over the unflared end of the pipe and slid down the pipe to the flared end and be bolted to the matching flange on the end of the header.

We always called them exhaust manifold gaskets.

Here's an idea: Print out your picture, take it into a parts store, and let them deal w/you.

Aren't you in mensa? 😉

Well it's not a damned exhaust flange gasket. $14 wasted. Crappy advice. :disgust:

The part store won't match it up for you? And won't take it back? Time to find a new place to buy parts...
