My neighbor gave me a few seeds a few months ago for some "mild peppers". Turns out these little guys are freakin' hot. He forgets the name of the pepper, so I need ATOTs help on identifying the name of these delicious morsels.

The peppers themselves:

The plant they're growing on:

It is a type of pepper high in estrogen and if consumed over even a short period of time will cause... odd... side effects.

Your neighbor is a great joker!

How big are they?

Hint: if you include a ruler or even a coin in the pic we'd know the size.

Are there other hot peppers growing nearby? Cross pollination can push up the heat so heat isn't always a good indicator of type.

They do kind of look like banana peppers actually. They kind of look like a cross between a Jalapeno and those common yellow spicy peppers you can find at most stores.

Yellow Chilli's, I eat them all the time at Tommys with my Chili Cheese Fries, the orange one isn't fully ripe yet. Never seen a red one before.

Here's a few size comparison shots:

The big pepper is a banana pepper from the same garden just for comparison

At first I was thinking they were fresno peppers. But, after looking at the cascabella photos, I'm leaning towards that. Especially since my neighbor promised they weren't hot

Wow, that's a nice pepper plant.

For some reason, I can never grow a pepper plant taller than 2 ft and with more than 3 peppers on it. Wet soil isn't an issue (the heat dries everything out) and I make sure everything stays fertilized, but peppers are the one thing that I just cannot grow.

Oh well. :)
