Basically what I'm asking is simple. My friend has an asus P4c800 and a P4 2.8 with 1GB of Mushkin Xp4000 DDR

He refuses to upgrade atm because he's paying his own way through school and all that. So I talked him into overclocking.

I made a watercooling setup using some old parts and played around. managed to get 260Mhz FSB with 1:1 memory. Now my question is this. If the memory won't go higher, would it be wise to run a 5:4 divider and go with a higher FSB for a faster CPU, or keep it as it is for faster memory with a 1:1 ratio? I know P4s need memory bandwidth, but which would give better overall performance for this setup? I'm wondering if a faster CPU and a slightly slower memory (still above DDR400 speeds) is going to prove more beneficial for general gaming and basic video editing than having a 520Mhz memory speed.

so it would be 3640Mhz CPU and 520Mhz DDR or whatever CPU speed I can achieve by going with higher FSB and a slower memory speed (think if I got to 270Mhz I could have DDR432 and CPU speed of 3780).

Thanks in advance for any suggestion or advice/info you can give.

P.S. he will not upgrade to something more current. Not yet anyway.
