help me hardmod my 9500 lol

im stuck on how to pry the heatsink off the Radeon 9500... i have printed out the pictures of which resistor to solder, have soldering iron and solder ready, but cannot get the damn heatsink off...

any tips?

and where to find a 9700/9800 bios

Don't hard mod it, there is no need to do it that way and void the warrentee..

the thing is that i have already softmodded successfully to 9800 with all 8 pipelines...

now that is done i would like to hardmod it to skip any driver hacking/installation that would make installation harder/longer, and i dont want to do this over and over again when ATi releases a new driver (especially the one that improves performance)

i dont care about the warranty, it was an OEM card and only had 1 yr i think on it

Ok then, if you look at the spring clips from the heatsink/fan end you will see in the middle there is a round black piece of plastic. You need to pull that up about half an inch just to be sure, do this with both clips. Turn the card over and see where the clip come through the PCB, squash the clip together while pushing it through the hole. Do this for both clips and then just take the heatsink of with a slight twist..

That should do it..

These little resistors are VERY small, you might change your mind when you see them on the chip..
