Help me go to college :-O

I need your opinion on what i should do.

Here's my situation:
- Go to a community college and then transfer.
Work - Sallie Mae Financial.

Bills/expenses: Car loan $150 a month, $115 insurance. $7k balance. If i go to school full time, my mom will pay my rent so i don't have to work so much and focus on school.

Major:
Criminal Justice - Work parttime, Pay my own way & some help from the GI Bill ($1200 semester). OR transfer to national guard and have them pay for it.
Advantage - Can get a job with the government and be set 4 life. Get job preference as i'm a veteran + a crim just. degree.

Accounting or Business related field: Work full time. My current company will reimburse the money up to $5k a year if i work there full time, $2.5k for parttime & GI Bill ($1200 a semester)

Advantage - Cost me little or no money.. Work with my current company for 4 years & might get promoted + advance my career with them after i get my degree.

Disadvantage- Work full time & School full time might be extremely hard.

Trade School 2 b an electrician: quick, easy, cost little to none.

Disadvantage- i'll still be a highschool grad 🙁

definitely get a degree, you'll be way more valuable as far as employment goes... for CrimJ, look into becoming an LEO maybe?

I'd go to community college and transfer. You get credits for less money, and can finish your degree at a major university... and still work to pay bills and enjoy life and whatnot.

yes. I've took several LEO test b4 and passed them...but since i don't have an assoc degree, i'm disqualified. It's easy for me to pass them test now since i've taken a whole bunch, not only that i have veteran prefernce. And with a crim justic degree & Asian /speak 2nd language....i'm pretty much golden.

I recommend community college.
This will provide a good environment for taking classes in different areas to find the area that interests you.
A good tip for attending classes at a community college though is to remain focused on completing the courses you need to transfer.

My preference of your listed choices is accounting.

I would stay employed since you said you get tuition reimbursement plus GI Bill. As far as what type of school you want to go to, that's up to you. Like someone else said I think going to community college first to get your general electives out of the way cheaper would be smart. If you work part time and receive $2500 plus $1200 from the GI Bill you should be able to go to school full time and pay for it easily.

23, working full time @ sallie mae 🙁

Sallie Mae? Think you could do me a favor and "accidently" move the decimal place on my balance to the left a smidge? 😀

Personally I think it's a brilliant idea!

I also think that it's a particularly smashing idea old chap. Tally ho and all that old bean.

It sounds like you may want to look at a business related degree, like accounting or finance. Then I suggest getting a masters or JD, or both.
