This is my final semester. GPA is in the tank, so no need to worry about that, it ain't getting any higher. I am taking 12 hours right now and since the semester started, I have probably studied no more than 5 hours total for all classes. 2 of my classes are easy, but two of them are semi hard (one CS class, no programming, and the other is Cal 3). I just had my round of tests and I think I nearly failed the test in those two semi hard classes. I don't want to repeat the semester, or extend my graduation. So I want to get really serious. But there are distractions all around me. DSL, Counter Strike, PS2 and television. I have already given my PS2 to a friend of mine, but how can I learn to concentrate and become more focused?

I say if nothing else do well in math. Drop everything but the math if you really need to screw around. Math will take you far, very far.

Help me get serious about school

Thats easy, try looking around the next time you get outside of your house (or where ever you reside) and see how people are doing without an education. Take this advice, my boy, stop your goofing off and get yourself an education while you can.

And I do mean it, have you ever seen those people selling oranges and peanuts along side the freeway off-ramp, huh!! lests hope that you don't end up there just because
you woyuld rather play a gmae on your computer or hang out with your jobless friends...

peace

I am almost done with my Comp Sci degree, I don't think I will be selling oranges or peanuts. All I wanna do is get serious about school for once and stop goofing off.

Try studying in a place away from those distractions, like the library, or start a study group.

Buckle down, set study time and play time. No playing until you've studied.

give me your computer. You don't need that thing distracting you. Quit checking the messages in this forum or hot deal. You're bound to flunk out if you keep doing that.

Do you want to be one of those idiots who does nothing but drag down innocent coworkers with their vast incompetence? Or one of those slackers who everyone hates because everyone else has to take up all the slack? Or how about one of those people who just coasts through life doing the minimum amount of work possible just to get by and never actually accomplishes anything of worth? If there is one thing wrong with the world today, it's people who don't want to put in anything but the minimum effort and would rather do a half-assed job if it means less work for them. Do you really want to join the ranks of people like that? Or would you rather actually accomplish something in your life other than playing CS and watching TV?

Your choice.
