Help me get out of the hell hole I call work...

I work for Auntie Annes, and i'm sick of that place. I can't stand the customers or my co-workers. I'm waiting for my vacation pay to get into my paycheck (vacation time is May 23rd to the 30th), waiting for that paycheck, then sending out resumes/applying for another job, once I get accepted, I'm going to let my current manager have his two weeks, and i'm gone! I'll try to think of a way to get out sooner, but this is the plan for now.

Meanwhile, I need someone to critique an important step of getting another job... my resume!

The text is out of alignment from the .doc to .htm conversion, and under keyboarding, I have an extra "over" in there.

Go ahead and tell me what you truly think.

Yeah, I know its on geocities, but thats the only hosting service I have....

objective needs to be MUCH more specific...obviously you will be changing this, depending on where you're applying, but be sure you do so! Tell them why you want to work for THEM.

You should probably remove the "my own personal computer" and replace it with "personal computers"

for skills, take a quick online typing test so that you can say HOW many errors per minute you make, or just remove the error section and say "able to type 60+ WPM"

other than that, not too bad. If your GPA isn't bad, you probably want to put it on there.

Oh yeah, and for education, most recent goes on top.

I'm about to go take a college entrance exam, so I'll be unable to change this now, but I'll be sure to change it when I have the chance. My GPA was horrible throughout high school, though my senior year was really good. I have Mavis Beacon 5 installed on my mothers computer, so I'll test myself out there.

I would personally place your work experience above your education section until you've attended a couple years of college. Using the upside-down pyramid type of resume, you need to put the most quality things on top. It's more impressive that you've got some management experience at a young age than it is that you've got a high school diploma. That is pretty much commonplace these days.

Soooo, my advice would be to listen to jagec, and also move the work experience above education until you're further along in college.

Change that to "Building computer systems and troubleshooting problems."

Red: Okay, will do. You made a good point about how much work experience I have compared to my education, a HS diplomia is nothing, but management isn't very common for someone around my age.

Sagalore: Thanks for rephrasing those, your suggestions look alot neater and more professional than mine. Yeah, I noticed that error later too... I just didn't feel like editing it and reuploading for such a small error when I was going to re-edit it after your suggestions anyway 😉.

I'm going to start editing it out, and I'll upload my newer resume shortly.
