It ran perfectly for months on the CUBX at 933 MHz. I just got a CUSL2 and can't boot at 133 MHZ FSB. I have the halt on errors set to none. In the bios there is a setting for FSB:SDRAM: PCI Ratio which I set to [133:133:33], then another setting for FSB/SDRAM/PCI Freq. (MHz) which I set to [133/133/33]. Is this the correct way to set these. I see no other way really. Anyway, the machine will not boot into windows with these settings, but does work fine at [100:100:33]. HELP! I think I've tried everything.

You don't talk about your RAM. Do you have pc133 ram? The first 133 is the ram speed. I also have the same setup as you but because of my generic pc100 ram I have to run my p3 at 100/133/33.

set the ram timings from 5,7 to 7,9,

and lower cas ratings to 3,3,3. work your way back up.

I tried that, and also set AGP to 2x and just about everything I could think of. If it helps I am using Winme. The only thing I haven't done is take out all the PCI cards. They were all on the CUBX without any problems. (sb live, hollywood plus, AHA-2930CU, Intel Pro/100 Management) using a Creative labs Annihilator 2 AGP.

All cards ran at 133 FSB on the CUBX for months.

Also, the bios I am using now on the CUSL2 is 1002. Where can I find the beta 1003?

I was able to boot with a floppy at 933 MHz. I have 2 WD 20.5 ATA66 drives. I have the bios set to auto. I wonder if it is the hard drives. Or for that matter it could be one of the PCI cards...

I will try it without the PCI cards when I get back here on Wednesday...

which windows version are you using? And did you just swap out the mb, or did you do a clean OS install?

Okay, try this.

1. Lower your CPU Speed back to 700mhz (7x100), but raise the voltage to 1.8 (or, around the same higher voltage you used on the CUBX). Now, boot all the way to windows.

2. Restart, and enter the BIOS again. The Voltage should still be at the higher setting. Now, adjust the FSB, Save/Exit, and enter windows.

3. Did that work? (Voltage first)?

You need to give more information about your system. Things like BIOS version #, what video card, what PCI cards, etc are important. If you are not using 1003 final or 1003 beta 4 BIOS, try those. I was able to bump my CPU freq up to 987 from 933 when I updated from 1003 final to 1003 beta 4. Good luck.

I have a very similar setup:

p3-700 on CUSL2 with an Infineon 7.5ns DIMM (I sometimes use Corsair with Micron 7.5ns), and the 20.5GB Western Digital with WinME...

Try updating your video drivers (there is only one version of my ViperII drivers that will work with ME)

Also, update the BIOS... When I first got mine the first thing I did was to use 1002 Final... I suggest flashing to 1003 Final (Beta 4 wasn't as stable at higher FSBs)... With that I have perfect stability at 966/CAS2 at 1.75v (using a GORB)...

I did a clean install of Winme version 4.90.3000. I am now using bios version 1003 final. I am using the latest Nvidia drivers for my Annihilator Pro. I am using the latest Intel ATA 100 drivers. The 700e always ran at 933 MHz at 1.65 volts, I did try raising voltage though.

AGP: Annihilator Pro GeForce 2
PCI 1: empty
PCI 2: Intel Pro/100+ Management nic
PCI 3: Hollywood Plus DVD Decoder card
PCI 4: SoundBlaster Live! Value
PCI 5: Adaptec 2930CU SCSI Adapter

(2) WD 20.5 gig ATA66
Plexwriter 12/4/32 SCSI CDRW
UltraPlex 40 SCSI CD-ROM
Zip 250 ATAPI

700e w/gorb
(2) Micron PC133 SDRAM (one is cas 2 and one is cas 3)

Working perfectly except when I adjust to 133:133:33 it does not boot into windows at all. It just hangs. I really think I have tried everything, I wonder if I have a defective board. I am tempted to buy an "EB" chip to see if I can run at 133 FSB.

HELP!

hmmm... just a test, but have you tried 133/100/33 for your speed settings(setting your ram to 100mhz)?

Also, what are your bios cpu temps like?

I did notice the temp was up to 149* F. OUCH. That was at default voltage and running at 100 FSB. I may have gotten a bad board. What a hassle. I hate returns from an online store.

the other thing you might check is if the heatsink is really sitting flat on the cpu...

I had a little bit of a hassle getting a gorb onto my cusl2.

That is almost 65C(max temp for p3s). My guess would be that the gorb isn't sitting entirely flat on the cpu.
