hi all :$

this is my rig :
(all at stock settings)
cpu : intel Core i7 950
mb : Asus Rampage iii formula
ram : ADATA 12GB DDR3 1600 4GB*3 CL9-9-9-24 1.35V
vga : 2x gainward gtx580 SLI
power : 1000 cooler master
cpu cooler : cooler master v8
case : cooler master haf x
ssd : adata 128gb s599

i want OC my cpu 4.2 or more
please give me advise

There is two ways to OC

change multiplier

or

Raise the FSB and also max the voltage.

Have a calculator ready and get one with it

I dont know much about voltages on a i7 so I cant help you there, someone else will.

its FSB x mutliplier ,,,, as you raise the FSB make sure its voltage is maxed. Also the RAM speed will go up so you need divider,, like 1:1 would be great But make shure to underclock ram after raising the FSB soo much.
 
Set CPU Vcore to 1.38v and make shure RAM is at spec if not lower speeds. Someone with that OC on that chip should tell you the vcore , youll have to raise it soo heat will come, I hope your ready and everything in your rig stays cool. thx

You should do 4.2ghz easy with the above vcore and things I told you.
