Help me fix my monitor please

So its been over a year i have dealt with this issue. I am hoping now someone will be able to help me fix this.

The problem is that the position of the monitor is shifted about 1/4 inch to the right on 16:10 resolutions. So the screen has a 1/4inch black bar on the left side, and the right side of the screen is off the screen by 0.25".

I can goto the settings and reset it it. But as soon as the monitor clicks off, such as opening a game or sleeping. The position is shifted to the right 0.25".

Does anyone have any clue how to fix it? Dell has been no help. Any suggestions.

Edit: I fixed it, i can't believe after over a year of torture i fixed it.

Had to hook up monitor to vga, reseted to factory (as i do everyday on dvi) and it was to much to the left then flicked to the right and center. Hooked up DVI and i can't believe it.
