Help Me Finish My New Rig!

I've been reading on AT forums for some years, and now that I'm getting ready to build a new system I finally decided to post and get your expert opinions on my new rig. 🙂

Here is what I got so far:

LX-6A19 Modified Case with 4 silenX fans
Tagan 480W Power Supply
DFI nForce4 Ultra D
80GB WD Raptor
Nu-82 DVD/CD-RW

Here is what I'm thinking of getting:

AMD A64 3200+ Winchester
OCZ DDR 3200 EL Platinum Rev. 2

The video card is what I'm really stuck on. I'm looking at the X850 XT and 6800GT and on the nVIDIA side I really don't know which brand is better than another.

I plan on using this system for gaming and I want to overclock. Thanks in advance.

If I were you, I'd get a 6800gt. It is about $125 cheaper, and it is better in some games than the x800xt.

X850XT is faster!

Oh, you said x850xt. That makes a little difference, about $200.
I would still get 6800gt because it has a cheaper price and still excellent performance.
If your looking at the x850xt range, you should be comparing to 6800ultra.

I've been leaning towards the 6800GT just for its availability and price but I've had a good experience with ATI as well as I currently own a 9800 flashed to PRO. Any idea on a good brand for the 6800GT especially for overclocking?

EDIT: In retrospect a 6800 Ultra would be a better comparison with X850 XT. Which one would you pick and why?

Wow, $349 for an Ultra? That is a great price. Looking at the description It seems like this is an AGP card or am I wrong? I would like to know if anybody had any success overclocking an ultra, or is this card pushing the limit as it is? Thanks for the suggestions, anymore comments on this build are welcome. :thumbsup:

It is agp and the board is Pci-e isn't it. Still a good price
