This is an old game, (circa ~'95). THe basic layout is a bunch of tiles in a cross shape. The concept of the game was to find the matching pairs and as you did that, it would take them off, revealing the peices uinderneath. You won when there were no more peices left. My girlfriend said the game was called "Taipei" but I am not sure about that. If any one an send a link for it or what was it called, then I could earn lots of brownie points since she loved that game but no longer has it.... It ran on a PC by the way....
Thanks

Taipei!!! I remember that game!

that's the one where you match mahjong tiles right? I love that game.

Check Tucows and Shareware.com for Taipei freeware clones. there are bound to be some improved versions over the original Taipei game

When my dad bought his $3500 IBM PS/2 in 1990, he put a taipei game on it (Win 3.1). It kept me occupied for hours. But I still cringe and want to cry when I think about how much the system + 13-inch monitor + software cost.

The real game was called "Shanghai." IIRC, it was a Sega game...
You should be able to find it or clones. The clones are often just called "Mah Jongg" because they use mah jongg tiles, but they aren't the Mah Jongg that the old Japanese ladies sit around playing all afternoon, usually.

i still have the taipei exe
i stuck it on a floppy disk and brought it home...this was over 5 years ago

it still runs :)

if you want it, drop me a PM
