Can you go bigger?

I am assuming you are not using it for a water pump correct?

Whatcha mean go bigger? As in a bigger engine? No. ;)

Nope.. not for a water pump, lol... I'm putting a new engine on my scooter. ;) The 33cc, 1.7HP, 2-cycle engine that came on it is dead.

So I'm upgrading to the Honda 50cc, 2.5HP, 4-cycle engine. :p It'll be cool to just be able to pull up to the pump.. hehe

That specific engine is usually for water pumps. hence the 7000 rpm working limit.

I will see what I can find out.

grin.. I know.. ;)

That's what makes it such a good scooter engine. Since these scooters have no gears.. RPM = speed..

The little 33cc engine that used to be on my scooter would turn ~9500rpm, that would get me to about 25mph with an 11:1 gear ratio..

Most 4-cycle engines have a max governed speed in the 3-4k range... quite unsuitable for my application..

With the Honda, I'm reducing the gear ratio by more than 1/3rd.. I'm not sure how fast It'll be able to go, but it'll be fun.. lol..

And like I said, it will be badass to have a scooter that can just pull up to the pump, and go.. no mixing oil and gas.. ;)

Edit: That engine is used on some small generators, too.. ;)
