I am looking for that post that discussed a theoretical CPU speed limitation and have searched all over the forums for it but cannot seem to find it. I only found a link that gave me a messageboard error. Thanks for any help.

Somebody at my school (RPI) was working on a 16Ghz processor when I was there ... so I'm pretty sure the 3Ghz limitation isn't true.

Prolly old news. 3 GHZ definitely isn't the limit. It will be hit in the pretty near future, and with new technologies 3 ghz is a drop in the barrel.

Hell wasn't it AMd or intel who demonstrated a cooled 3 ghz a week back...?

3 Ghz is no longer the limitation. That was based on older technology on a larger etching. If you missed it, motorola found a way to make 70 Ghz CPUs.

it was a 2GHz limit, based on half micron or something. dude from devry or itt figured it was THE limit, not the limit of the current process tech.
