help me find some wedding favors

Our plan was to get some reflective crystals (looks like different colors depending on the angle you view it at) and it would have either 2 roses or 2 dolphins appearing in them. Wholesaler f'd up and got horoscope symbols in them instead and said take it or leave it. I ain't paying close to $200 for what I didn't order - not to mention horoscopes won't be matched up to the recipient. Now we're stuck in a bind and need something in hand within 2-3 weeks. Anyone got some ideas / experience ? All help appreciated. Hoping to spend < $2 each cause I gotta get 250 of them.

EDIT>>> How important are favors at all ? Would you care if there were none ?

One of our favors was a packet of wild flowers. I designed a matchbook case for them that looked nice. We bought a huge bag of seeds and a bunch of real small baggies to give them away.

I've also seen folks give away CDs of music before with a nicely designed cover and back.

I'm sitting around watching the Yankee games, with these tulle circles and a pile of candy hearts, and some ribbon. Put hearts on circle, bunch up sorta pretty-like, tie with ribbon. Yell at Yankees/opponents. Cheap, and keeps me out of trouble.

Good luck finding something.

There won't be that many drinkers around... maybe 2 tables... 3 at most. Would rather do by consumption.

I don't think it's absolutely necessary to do favors, and no one has any right to complain if you don't, but since most of the people at your wedding are special to you in some way, it's nice IMO to give them some sort of memento. We're doing customized shot glasses, and we're getting them fairly cheaply at $2.30 apiece for 144 of them including all the screening charges. The problem you're going to have now is the turnaround time. You probably won't be able to do anything customized if you need to guarantee that it will be done in 3 weeks. 🙁

I'd just do something simple that you can get off-the-shelf.

I don't think many of the guests care, but it's tradition.
My cousin is getting favors for the American style wedding and Chinese banquet.
I have been shopping for bridal shower gifts and found some on Here
Good luck!

i went to a wedding recently and they gave out shot glasses with their names on them and inside was a piece of chocolate w/ alcohol (like the jack daniels candy)... seemed kinda weird to me that they gave shot glasses out

Traditionally, wedding favours (also called bombonieres) are made up of 5 sugared almonds wrapped in an attractive cover of lace or presented in elegant boxes. The almonds represent Health, Wealth, Happiness, Long Life and Fertility.

Personally though, If you are short on time and want something not too expensive.. you can probably go to a dollar store and get wallet sized frames and give those as the favor and then when you send thank you cards (which you will) enclose a wallet sized picture of the 2 of you!... wa-la!
