help me find older laptop?

I am after a laptop with a serial port.

Low CPU power is ok.
Anything kinda modern that maybe has wireless, but is a few years old, so is very cheap? Win 98 era seems ok.

It's really just to run one DOS app, but nice to browse the web when I travel with it.

What's your budget? You can find pretty much any of the newer notebook computers that has the bare minimum wireless.

Finding one with a serial port nowadays is a little more difficult. BUT You can get a usb to serial adapter. Just install the drivers that come with it and it works just like a serial port.

All newer notebooks today should have at least 1-2 usb ports and up to 6 for high end desktop replacement notebooks.

For travel purposes and price, I'd probably look for a 14-15 inch notebook computer. I'd prefer a 14.1" one.

why do you want win 98 era laptop for?

I still have Dell XP4000 laptop with 10" screen and runs on win 95 but it lacks cd drom and no usb and battery is dead....hard to find parts for this laptop.

Don't know what the OP is up to, but where I work, we need lappys with serial ports to [re]program PLCs... 😉

Dell Latitude D630s are popular!
