I need to find a 802.11G router with this feature:
-fixed address client IP mapping. given a MAC address, I can tell the router to always issue a specific IP address. This allows me to set all the clients to DHCP while still knowing what their IP address is for sure.
My old SMC Barracade 4 port router had this feature, as well as my current Dell TrueMobile 2300 802.11G router. However, the Dell router is just BRUTAL. i've had 3 replacement for failures and even when it works, I keep having to power cycle it by unplugging it and plugging it back in, or else it won't route any network traffic. Dell refuses to acknowledge this problem even thought their support forums are riddled with multiple reports of this.
I've checked out the Linksys, D-Link and Microsoft user manuals online, and it doesn't appear that any of them have this feature.
