No...those are VGA-to-Component adapters (for the Radeon 8500 AIW and similar cards) and DVI-to-Component adapters (for Radeon 9500 and up, or something like that). And as far as I know (I created a smiliar thread back in June), such an adapter does not exist (or would not work) with the 6800 series; you'd have to get a pretty pricey transcoder that would convert the signal for you....

the s-video to component dongle that ATi will not work on an Nvidia card, I was trying to do this same thing a few months back. The only answers I found were buying a VGA to component converter box, which cost about $100. In the end, I stuck with the s-video connection, as I couldn't really justify the $100 for the converter.

I'm trying to get a .ts file from my HTPC onto my HDTV. Unfortunately I do not have DVI on my HDTV.

My htpc records my HDTV programming off my motorolla 6200 cable box via firewire. And s-video is impossible for HD programming.

BTW, I heard rumors of certain the 6600GT manufactures coming out withe the DVI-YPrPb converters, but I can not remember for the life of me who they were or when they were coming out.

Would a VGA-->component adapter work?

Some manufacturers are putting a component adapter cable with their cards. I haven't seen an AGP one that had it yet, but I know some of the PCI-Express ones do.

AGP may be tough, at least until more 6600 AGP cards come out. 6800 cards don't have native YPbPr output. A transcoder like these from audio authority would work with most modern cards from NV.

Other NV choices are a Leadtek MyVIVO 5950 ultra (good luck) and a 5700 personal cinema.
