Help me find a Westinghouse LVM-37W3 in Canada!?

Well for a little while Crutchfield Canada had the W3 available on their website for a really good price. However, it recently disappeared from both American and Canadian websites. I called them and they basically said that model has been discontinued and pointed me towards the 42''. The 42'' might just been too damn big (and expensive for poor ole' me right now) to sit in front of as for a computer monitor. That other thread about this screen has me drooling all over of the 37'' and I really, really, really want to pick one up!

Can anyone help me find one of these in Canada at a good price? None of the American retailers I've found ship to Canada and I can't find it available anywhere else. I want one so bad :( ! I could get the thing shipped to a friend in the US and go pick it up, but odds are I'll get nailed at the border and have to pay taxes up the ass for it... unless I mount the 37'' screen in the back of my Mazda 3 and try to convince the border guys that I just got my ride pimped.

Etronics seems to ship to Canada

In - Stock

But, their Reseller ratings leave something to be desired.

I got my Westinghouse from them, took exactly a week to get it to my house *New Jersey to California*, not too bad. I didnt have any problems any of the 3 times I have orderd from them. That being said, I never had any issues where i needed their customer service to intervene either. It seems like thats where you will run into problems with them.

Beautiful display though :)

Good luck man, I could only find the LVM-37W1 BestBuy.ca

not sure what the difference is.

Anyway, I hope you find one, they look great!

Edit: maybe you can ask BestBuy if they can get the W3 in for you. Be careful about having a company ship from the states as you may get severely dinged with Duties/taxes etc. (happened to me when I bought my MP3 player from the US).

Ordering it from the US is going to hurt me really bad when I get hit with an extra 300+ duties and taxes once it arrives. I wish Bestbuy had the damn W3. They have the W1 on sale for $999 but I really don't want to purchase the old model.

On top of that, Dell has the 2407 on sale for 699 today. Seems damn tempting.

There is no duty on PC parts including monitors (likely none to minimal on TV's either but this isn't a TV). So the only collection would be the provincial and federal taxes that would otherwise be due at a local merchant.

I don't mind paying taxes on it but I'm sure I'll get hit with all types of weird duties and fees. I ordered some PC100 ram here on the forums one time for bout 20 bucks and ended up getting charged $50 dollars of taxes and duties. What the hell? I don't want the same thing to happen if I order from the States and ship to Canada. Unfortunately, I don't see this available anywhere in the US that will ship to Canada.

I found B&H Photo who delivers to Canada but they don't have it in stock. Like I said, Crutchfield told me that Westinghouse is discontinuing this model so it might get harder and harder to find anywhere. Anyone have any info on this? Bestbuy Canada only has the W1 and I don't want to get the older one (heard it has ghosting problems on 360 and etronics looks too sketchy to send a thousand bucks too.

My last option is to order it to my friend in Boston or Vermont and go pick it up. Can anyone help me find this either in Canada or in the US (hopefully shipping to Canada) at a good price? I really want this thing and will pull the gun on it right away if I find a good deal. Help! I want it! All you Westinghouse owners who keep posting pictures of their beautiful screens are making me jealous. Let me join the club :( !

Does samsclub.com ship to Canada? I got mine from there and got it in 3 days (Texas). And a flawless one with firmware 1.0 (latest/final firmware).

They don't seem to ship to Canada. Checked it out. Isn't Sam's Club the same as Costco? We have Costco here but they don't carry this screen.

I thought the same thing, but apparently they are seperate store chains. Sorry to hear that they don't ship to y'all.

Other places that I know have it (but not sure about shipping to our friends up north): Best Buy & ABT Electronics. Good luck!

Weird about etronics... Looks like their resellerratings have taken a nosedive. I've ordered stuff from them in the past and recommended them to other people, but it looks like they might be in trouble. It's a shame too because they had way better prices than Crutchfield.

The only way to get hit with queer fees is from brokers ostensibly handling the paper work. So, if you intend to have it shipped then simply be aware of all charges. Presumably any fee would be a relatively insignificant on a percentage basis for a $1000 item versus the $20 RAM experience. Dig? Plus, there may actually have been duties in the era of PC100 (pre NAFTA & WTO). But as said, there are no duties and no more tax than local with self-importation however the USA state sales tax may or may not be refundable to auslanders so that's another thing to check.

If you have a friend near a Shopko they were hawking 'em for $850 recently but check fatwallet 'n' such for the latest prices. 'nutha option is simply to accept that this model is EOL now so just wait 'till January for the newer, better and prolly cheaper (or same price with tuner thrown in) model. I vaguely recollect there was scuttlebutt about discontinuing the consumer 37" in 1080p (in favour of 42"). Dunno... maybe the smaller ones will still be available in commercial/industrial models but with less inputs like the Panasonic industrial plasma.

Saw at fatwallet that buy.com is hawking it for an okay price of $925 shipped (917 after fatcash).
